CATRINA L. GUERRERO

Catrina was born in Corpus Christi and raised in Kingsville, Texas. She graduated cum laude from Texas A&M; University-Kingsville with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. Catrina then graduated magna cum laude from St. Mary’s University School of Law.

Catrina is an appellate defense attorney with a practice focused on legal research, persuasive writing, and oral advocacy. She represents clients in both first-party and third-party insurance disputes, assisting with appeals and insurance defense matters at all stages of litigation.

Catrina began working with Tom Nye during law school and rejoined his team after graduating in 2020. Her exceptional legal research and writing skills have strengthened and advanced numerous appellate briefs, and she has valuable experience presenting oral argument before the Thirteenth Court of Appeals. In addition to appellate work, she regularly collaborates with trial counsel to preserve error and position cases for appeal.

Catrina is actively involved in both local and state bar associations and frequently presents continuing legal education (CLE) programs to bar organizations and in-house counsel. 

Outside of the office, Catrina enjoys staying active, attending Hooks baseball games with her husband, and spending time with her family—including her two dachshunds, Klaus and Roo
